”I've spent my whole career on the side of workers, from federal defense to the shop floor. When a company shortchanges its people, someone has to make it answer for that.
Rebecca Harteker is an Attorney at Frontier Law Center, where she focuses on class action and PAGA cases, representing groups of California employees whose employers have violated their rights.
Professional Experience
Rebecca built her career on the side of workers from the very start. Before joining Frontier Law Center, she trained at some of the most respected names in plaintiff-side and public-interest law. She clerked at Lawyers for Justice, interned with the Worker Rights Consortium in Washington, spent a summer at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, and served as a legal intern with the Federal Public Defender. Each of those roles pointed in the same direction: toward the people with the least power and the most at stake.
That focus fits naturally with the work she does now. Class actions and PAGA claims, which let employees enforce California labor law on behalf of themselves and the state, are how systemic violations get answered, the kind that affect not one worker but an entire workforce. Rebecca handles cases involving unpaid wages, missed meal and rest breaks, and the policies that quietly shortchange employees across a company, building each claim into a case that holds employers accountable at scale.
Education
Rebecca earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from UC Santa Barbara. It’s a background that pairs rigorous legal training with a sharp instinct for how a story is told, which matters as much in a courtroom as it does anywhere else.
